*dusts off thread* Justice, you gotta' keep these threads clean, man... 
....anyway....where to begin? (1)There's been several millenia's-long hate directed at the Jews as a people, nevermind Israel, going back for a little bit of recorded human history(2)As I think we've discussed over at Wober, the Jews - not the "Palestinians" - have the better historical claim to the ancient regions of Judea & Samaria, through not just archaeological evidence (remember, the Temple Mount was around a helluva' long before the Dome of the Rock arrived) but through written evidence as well (just read the words of Tacitus, Josephus and other Roman/Jewish leaders and try disputing their evidence)(3)In modern terms, another reason for all the hullabaloo towards Israel is that the country represents something both foreign and dangerous to the Middle East: a functioning, stable liberal democracy in a land of autocrats, theocrats and tinpot dictators..and that not only scares them but the Arab people as well(4)Continuing the modern view, there's also the fact that, unlike in the countries surrounding Israel, in Israel it doesn't matter whether you're an Israeli Jew, an Israeli Christian or an Israeli Arab/Muslim, you're treated pretty much as equals. Try finding that in any Arab/Muslim country...go on, we'll wait. |

1) there's been hatred towards everyone by everyone... humans have been hating and waging war ever since, well, ever... so saying that one group of people were mistreated more than others is inaccurate...
2) that's your opinion and doesn't make you right, and "written evidence" isn't proof nor evidence...
3) and i don't think any of that scares them, it's how history happened, it's more how israel became israel and all the killings that israel did to the innocent...
4) actually, there's plenty of hate and racism in israel, just read and watch videos of jews and israelis fighting among each other...

Relatively speaking, Israel's still treated its' people and those around with a lot more respect than their Arab neighbors.2) that's your opinion and doesn't make you right, and "written evidence" isn't proof nor evidence... --I can only go by what I've seen, what I've read and what I've heard, from as many sources as possible...unfortunately - for you, my friend - Israel wins this round.3) and i don't think any of that scares them, it's how history happened, it's more how israel became israel and all the killings that israel did to the innocent... --Israel became a nation in 1948 following the horrors of the Holocaust and WW2 and were & are still determined to survive, regardless of how you, I or anyone else feel about them...4) actually, there's plenty of hate and racism in israel, just read and watch videos of jews and israelis fighting among each other... --Yeah, and the vast majority of it comes from the "Palestinians", who are seemingly intent on trying to eliminate Israel, something they've pretty well failed at.... |
