there's less risky and clean energy out there already that humans should shift to... the human race is stuck in the black gold age... On the second point, I agree up to a point...if you can figure out how to, (1)power everything on renewable energy and (2)provide all the products that are made using hydrocarbons and/or petroleum items, go for it. On the first point, I disagree. All forms of energy have inherent risks, but over centuries, mankind has figured out - or at least, tried to figure out - how to manage and deal with the risks. FWIW, Justice, I'm somewhat bullish on both thorium reactors and on nuclear fusion (at least, in terms of current fission tech), if for no other reason that nuclear fission is a slowly dying energy source and the sooner we can go from that to safer forms of nuclear energy, let's go for it.

i don't see electric or solar energy too risky... or sea current energy reactors... To some degree, neither do I...but, I still don't see them as becoming dominant in the energy field.

To some degree, neither do I...but, I still don't see them as becoming dominant in the energy field. because the humans that have a say into it wants it around and as the dominant energy source so they can still profit and control as much as possible? it's possible to be 100% independent from oil but that's not what "they" want...
